Regional Director and Deputy Regional Director of the WFD RSA attend the Fifth Session of the Working Group on the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities was held on 21 to 22 February 2019 at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand. The Session was organized by the UNESCAP.
Mr. Yasunori Shimamoto, Regional Director of WFD RSA, was one of the vice chairmen of the two-day session and Mr. Shimamoto also presented on the topic “Importance of Legal Recongition of Sign Languages” together with Ms. Ikumi Kawamata from the Nippon Foundation.
This is yet another year of copious contributions from members of the Fifth Session of the Working Group on the Asian and Pacific Decade of Persons with Disabilities. Discussions, recommendations and decisions have been made to the two-day session on how to #maketherightreal, #leavenoonebehind, the rights of women and children with disabilities and many more.
